Day 4: 1 Timothy 5:1-8
I had the awesome privilege of seeing 1 Timothy 5:1-8 lived out through not only my mother but also my grandmother.
As my grandmother grew older and need more care, I witnessed my mom sacrifice her time and money to take care of her mom. I know it took a great deal of patience at times, but she did it with grace.
Often times I was called upon to help out. One day my grandmother said to me, “I just don't want you to have to go out of your way for me.” I told her that it was an honor for me to do things for her, considering all the wonderful things she had done for me!
Although I did those things out of love for my grandmother and my mother, it blesses my heart to know that it also pleased the Lord.
Life gets busy for all of us but I strongly encourage you to take the time and make caring for your family a priority. It will not only bless your life as well as theirs but most importantly, it pleases the Lord!
Ask yourself today: What’s one way you can put someone in your family before yourself?
